## Process Diagram Strategies
Process diagrams present either a linear manufacturing sequence (e.g. glass recycling) or a natural biological cycle (e.g. life cycle of a salmon).
### Key Linguistic Rules:
1. **Passive Voice**: Manufacturing processes focus on the action, not the worker:
- *Active*: *Workers sort the bottles.*
- *Passive*: *The glass containers are collected and sorted by color.*
2. **Sequential Connectors**:
- *Initially / At the outset*
- *Subsequently / In the following stage*
- *Following this / Prior to entering the furnace*
- *The culmination of the cycle occurs when...*
